When life gives you apples, make…

Apple Picking in New York

What do you do with all those apples you picked over the weekend? Other than dicing them up and eating with peanut butter, we recommend making some apple sauce. It’s basically the best condiment/snack/ingredient out there. And it practically cooks itself. Check out Food52’s amazing non-recipe recipe. All you have to do is chop up some apples (peeling is optional, and, we think, overrated), put them in a pot, add some water and some cinnamon sticks if you have them, and turn on the flame. When it gets soft enough, mash it around a bit and voila! Apple sauce.

And if you want to get more ambitious, the New York Apple Association has a crazy amount of recipes for apple everything.
